Our moderator for the day is Dominic O'Connell. Dominic is the business presenter of the Radio 4 Today Programme. He was formerly Business Editor of The Sunday Times, since 2010, and joined the paper in 2001. Before that, he was part of the launch team of Sunday Business. Under his editorship, the paper broke a series of big business stories including the news of BHS's pending administration, and previously the Pfizer bid for Astra Zeneca, the largest ever attempted takeover of a British company. As well as his role on the Today Programme, Dominic also appears regularly on Business Live on BBC World News and the News Channel, on World Service Radio business output, and contributes to the online business pages.

Adrian Hull, Head of Fixed Income, leads our UK-based Fixed Income team members. Prior to his current role, Adrian was at Deutsche Bank, before moving to Cazenove and subsequently heading UK credit sales at ABN AMRO Bank. He then headed sterling credit trading at Royal Bank of Scotland and Nomura. He has been in the industry since 1990 and started with the firm in 2014. Adrian received his degree in Modern history from the University of Oxford.

Ajay Dayal joined Franklin Templeton as an Investment Director in August 2020 from Legg Mason Global Asset Management, following its acquisition by Franklin Templeton. Prior to this, he was a Managing Director, Head of Equity Product Specialist Group at Legg Mason, and has been with the overall business for over 13 years. He represents the equity and multi-asset capabilities at Specialist Investment Managers within Franklin Templeton to articulate and shape their investment solutions and ensure their technical insights and value propositions are clearly communicated with internal and external clients. His team has a clear focus on client-centric engagement across multiple mediums and client channels globally to help accelerate the sales process and effect client retention. Ajay has 20 years of professional investment experience, and has previously worked at ABN AMRO Asset Management, M&G Investments and Barings. He has a BA (Hons) in Economics from Durham University, England and holds the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) designation and is a regular member of the CFA Society of the UK.

Andrzej Pioch | Legal & General Investment Management

Andrzej Pioch | Fund Manager, Legal & General Investment Management

Andrzej is a fund manager in the Multi-Asset Funds team. His responsibilities cover the portfolio management and ongoing development of both institutional and retail multi-asset funds and he leads on the management of the award-winning L&G Multi-Index fund range. Prior to joining LGIM in July 2014, he was a fund manager at Aviva Investors. He is a CFA charterholder and completed the MSc programme in Finance at Bocconi University in Milan. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and social science from Utrecht University. An ESG advocate, Andrzej holds GARP’s Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Certificate and lectures at Queen Mary University of London on Portfolio Construction and Asset Allocation.

Andy is a global porfolio manager of the Real Return strategy. Together with Aron Pataki and Suzanne Hutchins, Andy is responsible for the final capital allocation decisions on the strategy. Andy started his career ar Mercury Asset Management in 1993 as a unit trust dealer before joining the quant & derivaitives team to focus on managing synthetic portfolios for clients and trading equity derivatives for the firm. In 2006, Andy joined the multi-asset team at BlackRock where he was responsible for managing absolute and relative return mandates as well as the head of research specialising in equity thematic views and risk premia strategies. Andy has an MSc in Finance from Leicester University and is a CFA charterholder. Andy plays in a rock band in his spare time and enjoyes playing, writing and recording music. 

Becky Qin | Fidelity

Becky joined Fidelity Multi Asset as a Manager Research Analyst in 2014.  She provides senior oversight and expertise in manager research across global fixed income strategies, both from within Fidelity and across the investment industry, supporting Portfolio Managers in accessing markets through the optimal underlying investment strategies. Prior to joining Fidelity Becky worked at KPMG Investment Advisory as an Assistant Investment Consultant. She covered Fixed Income and Property research and was responsible for advising on the investment strategy of pension scheme clients.  Becky received a BA in Economics from Cambridge University as well as an MSc in Development Administration & Planning from the University College London.  Becky is a CFA Chartholder and CAIA Chartholder.

Now a veteran of over 2,000 speeches in 30 countries, Caspar uses this unique experience to deliver challenging messages about risk-taking and decision-making to maximise returns in an increasingly uncertain world.

Christopher Korpan, executive director, is a portfolio manager and global sector specialist in the J.P. Morgan Asset Management International Equity Group, based in London. An employee since 2010, Christopher was previously a business analyst at Lundin Mining Corporation and a geologist at Bema Gold Corporation. Christopher obtained a MSc in Metals and Energy Finance from Imperial College London and a BSc Geology (Hons) from Edinburgh University, and is a CFA charterholder.

Dean Cheeseman | Janus Henderson Investors

Dean Cheeseman is a Portfolio Manager on the UK-based Multi-Asset Team at Janus Henderson Investors. He has co-managed the International Concentrated Equity strategy since 2019. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, he was a portfolio manager and member of the asset allocation committee from 2011 at Mercer, where he contributed tactical asset allocation ideas for all multi-asset and equity strategies. Before that, Dean was with F&C Asset Management from 2007 to 2010, finishing his tenure as head of fund of funds. Earlier, he was head of developed markets with Forsyth Partners from 2001 and head of collective investments at Morgan Stanley’s Quilter from 1998. He began his career as an investment analyst in 1995 with Chartwell House Asset Management.

Eva Sun-Wai

Eva Sun-Wai became the lead manager on the Global Government Bond strategy and deputy manager on the Global Macro Bond strategy in January 2021. Since September 2019, Eva had been a junior macro fund manager in the Wholesale Fixed Income team, where her role involved implementing macroeconomic trade ideas in the Global Macro Bond and the Absolute Return Bond strategies. She joined M&G in 2018 on the Investment Graduate Scheme, rotating across several business areas including emerging market debt, corporate credit research, real estate and long-term investment strategy

Guy Glover, MRICS, is a Fund Manager for the BMO UK Property Fund and the Responsible Housing REIT plc. Guy has over 25 years’ experience in property and joined the Group in 2004. Guy is a Chartered Surveyor and holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Land Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Property Investment. Prior to BMO REP, Guy worked for 9 years at Wereldhave Property Corporation plc, where he was responsible for asset managing their UK portfolio. Guy sits on the management board of the Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF).

Jeremy has been a professional macroeconomist for fourteen years and has held a range of senior positions in both the public and private sectors. He began his career at the Reserve Bank of Australia, where he rose to the position of Senior Research Economist. He then joined the OECD in Paris, where he worked extensively on European public policy issues and was the Head of the Hungary/Slovenia desk. In 2010 Jeremy joined the Institute of International Economics as the Deputy Director of Global Macroeconomics before moving on to BNP Paribas as a Senior US economist, specialising in Fed policy, as well as fiscal issues and inflation. Jeremy holds an MSc in Public Financial Policy from the London School of Economics and took a sabbatical in 2007 to advise the then Australian Opposition Leader, Kevin Rudd on economic and environmental policy.

Martin joined Schroders in 2014 as an industrials analyst and is now Manager of the Schroder ISF EURO Equity, Schroder European and Schroder European Alpha Income Funds. His Investment career commenced in 1994 when he joined SEB Asset Management as an investment analyst for Nordic industrials and basic materials. In 1999 Martin became their Head of European Research. He previously worked at American Express Asset Management as a senior investment analyst responsible for Industrials and Telecoms. Martin has a Masters in Financial Economics from Stockholm School of Economics. He was named European Equity Manager of the Year by Morningstar in  2017.

Mithran Sudhir | Goldman Sachs Asset Management

Mithran is a client portfolio manager on the Fundamental Equity team, specializing in Emerging Market (EM) equities. His coverage includes our Global EM, China, India and ESG strategies. His primary responsibilities include marketing and client service for the institutional, retail and high net worth channels. In his role as an EM specialist, he is focused on helping clients gain appropriate access to emerging markets, as well as assisting with their strategic asset allocation decisions. Mithran joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management and the Fundamental Equity team in March 2013. Prior to that, he was an investment advisory analyst with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in their Private Banking division. Mithran received a B.Com (Hons.) degree from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in 2010 and qualified as an accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 2012. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter and the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) in 2016.

Ned is a Fund Manager and Head of Strategy in the Gold & Silver team. Before joining Jupiter, Ned worked at Merian Global Investors as a portfolio manager in the Gold & Silver Team. Prior to this, he worked at Quilter Cheviot where he founded a dedicated monetary metals fund in 2009. He began his investment career at Smith & Williamson in 2001.

Peter is Head of Equities at RLAM as well as the Global Equities team, and a Senior Portfolio Manager with over 19 years of experience. Prior to joining Royal London Asset Management, Peter was Head of Global Equities at Waverton Investment Management, where he worked alongside Will Kenney and James Clarke under the same team construct. Prior to this, Peter was a partner and global equities fund manager at IronBridge Capital Management for six years, where he co-managed the £3bn IronBridge Global Select equity strategy. Previously, he worked in the global equities team at Deutsche Asset Management. Peter graduated from Christ’s College, Cambridge University, with a starred double first-class degree in Geography, is a CFA Charterholder and a chartered management accountant (CGMA). Peter has also achieved the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.

Rachel Reutter co-manages the JOHCM UK Opportunities Strategy alongside Michael Ulrich. Rachel has been working on the UK Opportunities Strategy since she joined JOHCM in 2012. Prior to joining JOHCM, Rachel worked for Goldman Sachs where she was a Lead Sector Analyst in the Global Investment Research Division. Before that she worked as an Analyst at Stifel and in Global Banking and Markets at RBS. Rachel holds a MA in Geography from the University of Oxford and is a CFA Charterholder.

Richard Colwell is a portfolio manager and Head of UK Equities at Columbia Threadneedle. He manages the Threadneedle UK Growth & Income Fund, Threadneedle UK Equity Income Fund and the Threadneedle UK Equity Alpha Income Fund. He also co-manages the Threadneedle Monthly Extra Income Fund and has research responsibility across all sectors. Before joining the company, Richard ran high alpha UK equity portfolios at Aviva Investors. He has also held portfolio management roles at Credit Suisse and Schroders and worked at the Bank of England. Richard has a degree in Banking, Insurance & Finance from the University of Bangor. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of the UK as well as the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

Ritu Vohora

Ritu Vohora is an investment specialist representing the firm’s views on capital markets in the Multi-Asset Division. She is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price International Ltd. Ritu’s investment experience began in 2005, and she has been with T. Rowe Price since 2020, beginning in the Multi-Asset Division. Prior to this, Ritu spent 15 years at M&G Investments, most recently as an investment director and the head of Equities Investment Communications. Ritu earned a B.Sc. (honors) in accounting and finance from the University of Warwick (Warwick Business School) and an M.Sc. in management and the regulation of risk from the London School of Economics. Ritu has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP) Level 3 certificate in investment management. Ritu won the Highly Commended honor for Role Model of the Year at Investment Week’s Women in Investment Awards 2017. She also was a finalist for the Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2017 (Business category) and the London Asian Business Awards 2017. Sacha joined Baillie Gifford in September 2015 and is an Investment Manager in the North American Equities Team. He previously worked on global and regional teams with both small and large caps. Sacha studied environmental sciences. He holds a BSc from King’s College London and two master’s degrees, one from University College London and another from Imperial College London. Sacha is a CFA charterholder.

Simon is Co-Head of Quality at Ninety One. He is a portfolio manager with a focus on UK equities, and manager of the UK Alpha Fund and the Luxembourg domiciled GSF UK Alpha Fund. He is also responsible for the co-management of the specialist Quality investment team. Simon is based in the firm’s London office. Prior to joining the firm, Simon worked for Threadneedle where he was Head of UK Equities and responsible for the portfolio management of the Threadneedle UK Fund. He has been managing funds for over 14 years, having started his career with Schroders in 1998.

With a BSc and a MSc in Finance from Queen’s University, Belfast, in 1994 Stephen started his career at Aegon Asset Management (now Kames Capital) as a US equity analyst and fund manager. In 1998 he moved to fixed income, becoming manager of Kames’ Sterling Corporate Bond Fund in June 2000. Stephen then joined Old Mutual Asset Managers and managed their Corporate Bond Fund from 2004 – 2011, when he returned to Kames. There, as co-head of fixed income, he was co-manager of the Kames Investment Grade Bond Fund, the Investment Grade Global Bond Fund and the Absolute Return Bond Fund until November 2018. In May 2019 Stephen joined Artemis as a partner, to lead our fixed income team.

Based in Henley-on-Thames, Stuart is responsible for a number of global bond, emerging market, and cash portfolios. Stuart began his investment career in 1997 at Standard & Poor’s as an economist, initially specialising in analysis of the Benelux region and then covering the UK fixed income and money markets with responsibility for forecasting UK economic data and providing fixed income strategy. On joining our company in 2003, he was initially the fixed income specialist within our Investment Communication team before successfully transferring to the Henley-based Fixed Interest team in January 2006 as a fixed income strategist, specialising in the analysis of macro economic data and trends. In March 2010 Stuart was promoted to the role of fund manager. 

Sunil Krishnan | Aviva Investors

Sunil heads the team which manages long-only multi-asset funds and mandates.He is also a member of the Multi-Assets leadership group and a contributor to the AIMS investment process. Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Sunil was a Senior Multi-Asset Portfolio Manager at Santander Asset Management, having been Head of Global Asset Allocation at Hermes Investment Management and Head of Market Strategy at the British Telecom Pension Scheme. He also spent 10 years at BlackRock Investment Management in a number of roles including portfolio management, research and strategy.
